Sunday Seven – Episode 104
Sometimes, a revolution can begin with a song. Back in the 1930s, FDR helped America prosper after the Great Depression and the theme song that helped him get his plans into action was “Happy Days Are Here Again.” In the 1990s, Bill Clinton’s campaign theme was “Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow.”
Would you believe this week’s question has something to do with songs and politics?
But before you go through your CD collection, Eugene, of “Imabug” was first to play last week! Congratulations, Eugene!
On to this week’s question!
THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:
Name your top seven choices for a campaign theme song if you were going to run for president.
Either answer the question in a comment or answer it in your journal and include the link in a comment. (To be considered “first to play,” a link must be to the specific entry in which you answered the question.) You may include this link in the URL space when leaving your comment, or in the comment itself. As long as it’s there in one spot or the other.

My choices would be:
1. That baseball song that goes “Put in Coach. I’m ready to play today.”
2. This Little Light of Mine…I’m Gonna Let it Shine
3. The Imperial March from Star Wars
4. “You’re the Best” from The Karate Kid
5. Shout by Otis Day & the Knights…that would be a lot of fun (with the words possibly changed a little)
6. Simply the Best by Tina Turner
7. I am the Very Model of a Modern Major General
I still want someone to take the song “Pretty in Pink” & make a YouTube video for “Hillary in Pink.”
I also thought of Queen’s “We are the Champions” but the “No time for losers” line might make a few people angry.
I saw a Dresden Doll performance, that the Dresden Dolls had put online, where tthey dedicated “War Pigs” to “our friends in the White House.”

This is where I ended up putting the answer on my blog.
I wonder if I will think of anything else.
[...] was looking at Patrick’s site and saw a post about the impact that a theme song can have on a political [...]
