Damn You, Ferris Bueller!

“TV Land is Movie Land.”

That’s the network’s new promo line for its Friday night movies that get repeated at odd times over the weekend when they’re not stuck in some kind of Westerns hell.

I hate the fact that TV Land is trying to offer movies.  Really, if I wanted movies, I’d go to the Movie Channel or one of its clones.  Seems reasonable to me:  TV Land = TV, Movie Channel = Movies.

But every now and then, as much as I hate to admit it, Movie TV Land will show a movie that I can’t seem to turn away from.  Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, which is on now, is one of those movies.

I just hope that I don’t wind up with “Danke Schön” stuck in my head.

C’mon, I was about to say. At least it’s not something crappy like Ishtar.

If it were Ishtar, I’d have to seriously consider cancelling my cable subscription.

(I wouldn’t actually do it, but I’d spend a good six seconds thinking about it.)

I love Ferris. My boyfriend was surfing channels last night & just 2 sec of seeing his mom I said “Ferris” he could not believe I knew that quickly! I did a whole post on Ferris before! :-) You know when I’m doing attendance & a student is absent I’ll even do a “Bueller?, Bueller?, Bueller?” in class & many of them don’t get it…I just can’t believe it. I want to make them watch all these classic movies they have not seen. Now I’m seeing it…Danke Schön, Darling Danke Schön….I recall in Central Park…in the fall…Ha! Then make sure you just do the Twist after that! Stop and enjoy today…life moves pretty fast you know!
