Sunday Seven – Episode 108
This week I updated the look of this blog and the graphics for the Saturday Six and Sunday Seven. It took me several weeks of searching to find a template that I liked and felt would be relatively easy to customize.
But I had to search through a lot of blog themes. And that got me thinking about what makes some themes better than others. Some have lots of extra features, some are bare-bones. But what if you had the chance to work with a theme designer to build your own “perfect” theme? What would you require?
That’s this week’s topic.
Before first, Kelly, of “In My Opinion,” was also first to play last week. Congratulations, Kelly!
On to this week’s question!
THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:
Name seven “must haves” for your ideal blog design.
Either answer the question in a comment or answer it in your journal and include the link in a comment. (To be considered “first to play,” a link must be to the specific entry in which you answered the question.) You may include this link in the URL space when leaving your comment, or in the comment itself. As long as it’s there in one spot or the other.

Posted surreptitiously here. Thanks – good prompt.
My list is up! Sunday Seven
Great topic for this week!!

Nice graphics. They really stand out. Is there anyway of making it easier to get to these questions than going through the extra screens? Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy doing this every week. It’s just that it is time consuming. Keep up the good work with the weight loss.

mine is up
[...] think the Sunday Seven question this week is an interesting one. Patrick asks what are the seven “must haves” [...]
I’ve got mine up! Great question!
Mine are up at The Daily Snooze.
Jude has a particularly salient point in light of dial-up customers (something it appears I am headed back to being, dang it all). Fewer nested levels means a significantly faster online experience. Being able to go directly from the blog to this week’s Six or Seven may mean two or three minutes shorter time consumption.
I’m confused about one thing, Jude and Wil: I assume you’re suggesting that I not utilize the “jump” feature on these particular posts and just put the whole post on the front page of the blog, right?
If that’s correct, don’t you still have to go to the individual post to be able to leave a comment? Assuming that I’m right, it shouldn’t make any difference whether I let the whole post appear on the front page, or whether I post just the first couple of paragraphs and add the “read more” thing.
I’m not sure that the nesting level changes at all either way, but since I’m the blog’s administrator, I may not be seeing something that you do, or I may have a shortcut to something that you don’t.
Am I missing something?
