Saturday Six - Episode 213

Tag: Saturday SixPatrick @ 4:16 pm

How many people do you depend on for something in your life? There’s something in most of us that would seem to make us feel we should be independent. But are we? That’s the topic of this week’s questions.

  • First to play last week: Connie of Vox. Congratulations!
(According to the rules, “First to Play” requires you to be the first to include the link to the specific entry in which you answered the questions, not just the general link to your blog.)

Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your journal…but either way, leave a link to your journal so that everyone else can visit! To be counted as “first to play,” you must be the first player to either answer the questions in a comment or to provide a complete link to the specific entry in your journal in which you answer the questions. A link to your journal in general cannot count. Enjoy!

1. At what age did you move out of your parents’ home (or at what age do you plan to do so)?

2. What, in your book, makes someone truly independent?

3. If you had to live for a full year on a deserted island without any other company at all, do you think you would be able to do it?

4. Take the quiz: How Independent Are You?

5. When you have a major decision to make, on average, how many people do you talk to before making up your mind?

6. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being most important, how important would you rate the approval of those closest to you?

If you have a Reader’s Choice question you’d like to see asked (and answered), send me an email! I’d love to be able to include it in a future edition of the Saturday Six.

    1. At what age did you move out of your parents’ home (or at what age do you plan to do so)?

19, but I came back for few-month stays in summer until I was about 24 and done with my degree.

    2. What, in your book, makes someone truly independent?

I don’t think anyone is. Even someone living alone off the land depended on someone or something.

    3. If you had to live for a full year on a deserted island without any other company at all, do you think you would be able to do it?

No - not because of the company, but I don’t think I’d have the survival skills and instinct.

    4. Take the quiz: How Independent Are You?

    High.

    5. When you have a major decision to make, on average, how many people do you talk to before making up your mind?

    Usually none.

    6. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being most important, how important would you rate the approval of those closest to you?

    7
