The Price is Right premiered on CBS as The New Price is Right with Bob Barker at the mic. Barker claims he expected the show to do well, and that co-producer Mark Goodson was hoping to get five or six years out of the show, which would have been an accomplishment in itself. But to still be on the air after more than three decades is the kind of success story almost no one would have seen coming.
