What’s Your Type?

Tag: BloggingPatrick @ 10:22 pm

I made a modification of the typeface here at Patrick’s Place.  The body type is now a closer match to the new logo.  Granted, it’s not the same typeface, but it looks closer than what I had before.

But what do you think:  is this typeface still as easy to read?  Does it give you a headache?  Or does it make the blog look a little crisper and cleaner?

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

I like this font (a lot–I used it for my work email!), but it is a little fainter than whatever you used to have. It almost looks gray rather than black against the white background.

On the other hand, I can read it, so I’m happy! :-)

    Happy Monday.

The new logo looks good. What doesn’t read well is the smaller font underneath that reads “Fighting Double Standards and Poor Grammar since 2004″ and that is important. That is one of the things that appealed to me right away and got me to look at your site more. I happen to agree that double standards and especially poor grammar and worse spelling abound!

I like the new font. It looks sort of like Verdana (my favorite) but with a slight difference. I can’t quite put my finger on it, though. I do have to agree with Aislinge above about the tag-line (or whatever it’s called — subtitle?). It doesn’t come through quite as clearly as it should.

Good guess, Jeff…it’s actually Tahoma, but Tahoma and Verdana are very similar.

Prior to Tahoma, I briefly tried Century Gothic, which is similar to Futura or Avant Garde. I like that typeface, but I’m afraid the readability isn’t that great.

The blog has been set in Trebuchet for at least a year or so, but I was just looking to make a change, and since I can’t seem to find a blog theme I like better than this one, I figured I’d play around with the typefaces and see if that makes me happy.

Did you change the font again today? If you did, I like this one. If you didn’t, I need my eyes examined. ;-)

This is Tahoma, with a Tahoma Bold as the headline type. I think I like it.

    I think.
