In an interesting Op/Ed, a former John McCain supporter who tried to get him on the GOP ticket instead of George W. Bush in 2000 says McCain now has a choice: he can “go down in history as a decent senator and an honorable military man with many successes, or go down in history as the latest abettor of right-wing extremist hate.” He also says that McCain rallies are now beginning to resemble lynch mobs.
