Saturday Six – Episode 243

6 December 2008 9 Comments

It’s time for another edition of the Saturday Six, and since I didn’t address any post-Thanksgiving shopping last week, that’s what this week is all about!

This is going to be a busy day for me, so it may take me a while to get submitted comments moderated. Please be patient: I will get to your answers this afternoon or evening.

  • First to play last week: Otowi of Otowi. Congratulations!
  • (According to the rules, “First to Play” requires you to be the first to include the link to the specific entry in which you answered the questions, not just the general link to your blog.)

Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your journal…but either way, leave a link to your journal so that everyone else can visit! To be counted as “first to play,” you must be the first player to either answer the questions in a comment or to provide a complete link to the specific entry in your journal in which you answer the questions. A link to your journal in general cannot count. Enjoy!

1. How many stores did you visit on Black Friday? If you visited any, which one got the most of your money that day?

2. How many store sites did you visit on Cyber Monday? If you visited any, which one got the most of your money on that day?

3. Are you closer to being finished with Christmas shopping this year versus last year, or are you further away from being finished?

4. Take the quiz: What kind of shopper are you?

5. Do you prefer letting your friends give you a list of things they’d like, or trying to match their personality to a gift you’d buy on your own?

6. Are you spending more, less, or the same on this year’s Christmas gifts?

If you have a Reader’s Choice question you’d like to see asked (and answered), send me an email! I’d love to be able to include it in a future edition of the Saturday Six.

    1. 4, JoAnn’s.
    2. I may have browsed some sites like Amazon, but I didn’t buy anything.
    3. I finished on Black Friday. That may be a bit earlier than last year, I’m not positive.
    4. You Are a Reluctant Shopper
You really don’t enjoy shopping. For you, it’s just another chore.
You approach shopping systematically. You research what you’re going to buy and come prepared with a list.

Of all the types, you are the most likely to not buy things you don’t need.
You try to de-emphasize stuff in your life. You find shopping and buying things to be a rather empty experience.
    5. Lists are helpful. But they don’t guarantee that what I get them is actually on the lists – sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t.
    6. Less.
