Give It a Ponder? Really?

Well here’s an unusual public service announcement for our young people. Actually, part of me wonders if it was done as part of some Comedy Central skit.

It deals with the subject of malicious texting that young people like to do. Someone hears a rumor about someone else, and without bothering to look into it, they start texting it and Twittering it to everyone they can think of.

(Much like the way many “citizen journalists” go ape with lots of half-hearted “facts” they’d never tolerate from the evil media they hate so much…but I digress.)

This spot is designed to make teens think before they text, and you get to see what Lipton looks like without a beard.

But really: I have to wonder if any teen would really respond to this. Or even sit still long enough to watch it to begin with.
