Saturday Six – Episode 299
We’ve survived two Friday holidays in a row, and I wish we could continue the tradition: this four-hour workweek is not a bad thing at all.
But before we hit our first five-day week of the year, it’s time to play the Saturday Six.
- First to play last week: Ambrosia Jefferson of Birth of a Notion. Congratulations!
(According to the rules, “First to Play” requires you to be the first to include the link to the specific entry in which you answered the questions, not just the general link to your blog.)<
Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your journal…but either way, leave a link to your journal so that everyone else can visit! Permission is not granted to copy the questions to message boards for the purpose of having members answer and play along there. Enjoy!
1. What is your favorite holiday of the year?
2. What are the three things that makes this your favorite?
3. What is your least favorite holiday of the year?
4. Considering days that are celebrated but that are not holidays, like St. Patrick’s Day and Valentine’s Day, for example, which one would you make into a national holiday if you had the chance?
5. Take the quiz: What Should You Celebrate?
6. If there were a holiday created to celebrate the specific thing listed as the answer in #5, would you willingly celebrate it?
BONUS: Next week is the 300th edition of the Saturday Six and I’d like your help in coming up with six new questions! After answering the six questions this week, click the CONTACT link on the navbar and email me a question you’d like to see asked. Feel free to send more than one if you’d like!
If you have a Reader’s Choice question you’d like to see asked (and answered), send me an email! I’d love to be able to include it in a future edition of the Saturday Six.

I’m up.
I don’t really have a question for you, except it occurred to me that we (I) never get to see your answers to your memes. Do we?
I don’t play along as often as I used to, Cat., but just for you, here are my answers for this week:
1. Christmas is my favorite holiday.
2. Giving to friends and family, spending time with loved ones, opening presents.
3. Confederate Memorial Day (which is a holiday in SC) is my least favorite because it’s unnecessary: Memorial Day covers all wars.
4. Probably St. Patrick’s Day…it’s hard for someone named Patrick to choose anything else.
5. I should celebrate FRIENDSHIP.
6. Absolutely, especially if I could be surrounded by my closest friends on that day.

Sorry a bit day late..:D
Thanks, Patrick. I now recall that you did used to post your answers.
RE St. Patrick’s Day, Chicago and Boston pretty much shut down that day.
I wouldn’t want to be in either city on St. Patrick’s Day!
Leave your response!
