There are plenty of lists nowadays for job seekers that display the top mistakes to avoid during an interview. This week, you get to be the employer, and you get to decide which mistakes would be the biggest turn-offs that would keep you from making the hire.

Here’s the list of 13 mistakes. You’ll use this list to pick the seven that would bother you most.

  • First to play last week: Nobody of Nobody’s Notings. Congratulations!

Here is this week’s “Sunday Seven” question. Permission is not granted to copy the questions to message boards for the purpose of having members answer and play along there. Enjoy!

THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:
Name the seven mistakes that would most turn you off from hiring a new employee.

Either answer the question in a comment or answer it in your journal and include the link in a comment. (To be considered “first to play,” a link must be to the specific entry in which you answered the question.) You may include this link in the URL space when leaving your comment, or in the comment itself. As long as it’s there in one spot or the other.

    • Same here. My first job was at Kmart, and one of my biggest pet peeves was when someone would come to the store specifically to fill out an application but wouldn’t have a pen with them. The way we were set up, we didn’t have that many at the service desk, so I had to short us to give them something they should have brought with them.

    • I’m not saying I disagree but I chuckled thinking well that will eliminated almost everyone today! Ha! Sad but true!
