Fresh…Minty…What?

Fresh…Minty…What?

Maybe someone had second thoughts about Ryan Seacrest’s looks.

Scope Outlast mouthwash has been running a spot with the American Idol host for months.  It began with him in front of a bathroom mirror, presumably at his place, having just used Outlast as he prepares to go out.  Looking at himself in the mirror, he says, “Fresh…minty…handsome.”

The spot then continues with Seacrest out and about, meeting a bevy of models, one of whom comments on his breath with the word, “minty,” which he mis-hears as “Mindy” and assumes she’s introducing herself.

But a new version of this commercial has suddenly hit the airwaves, replacing the word handsome in the opening scene with “Ready.”

Maybe they cut both versions at the same time.  But the change is noticeable in its pointlessness.  Wonder what happened.

Maybe because he’s, well, NOT. Handsome, that is. I have no idea of his state of readiness.
