Burger Chain Trying Home Delivery

Posted by in Diet, Food & Drink

In America’s ongoing effort to fatten herself up beyond description, we find an interesting story out of our nation’s capital, where the new mantra might be, “If you can’t come to the Whopper, the Whopper will come to you.”

Burger King is experimenting with a home delivery service for customers in Washington, DC. If successful, reports Tampa’s ABC station WFTS-TV, it could roll the program out from coast to coast.

I can imagine times when you’re so busy at work that you’d just love to have a burger but just can’t tear yourself away from whatever project your working on. Or, maybe you’re less than an hour away from an important meeting and you haven’t the time to make it to a restaurant and back.

But really? Home delivery of a burger?

There are some foods that you should have to make a physical exertion to reach. Not that the calories required to get to the food would come close to the calories the food itself would pack on, but there ought to be at least the pretense of effort.

Would you take advantage of fast food delivery? Or is this literally a case of too much of a good thing in your book?
