Ready for That Extra Hour of Sleep?

alarm_clock2

How’d you like to be able to sleep one extra hour than normal?

This Sunday morning, you can.

Before you go to bed Saturday night, turn your clock back one hour, assuming, of course, you’re in a part of the country that participates in that whole Daylight Saving Time thing. If you want to be specific about it, the change is supposed to take place at 2:00am, which means there will be two consecutive hours of 1:00am.

But then if you stay up that late just to change a clock, you’re missing your sleep.

Your local fire department hopes you’ll also change the batteries in your smoke detector this weekend as well, just to make sure it’s fresh and that you are sure to be alerted to danger should a fire break out.

So set the clock back, change your batteries and then go to sleep at your normal time. You can rest easier and longer.

Won’t that be nice?

I like the idea but it seems like I just can't sleep in like I used to.  I'll probably wake up early.  I'll give it a try, though!

@Cathryn (aka Strange) Oh, I'm hoping that the older I get, the less trouble I'll have taking advantage of an extra hour. Keeping fingers crossed for both of us! (I have noticed it's a lot easier to take an afternoon nap on Sundays than it used to be!) :)

@patricksplace @Cathryn (aka Strange) Ha! The old you get the earlier you wake up. I wake up around 3,  have breakfast around 6 and around 7 go back to bed for a couple of hours.

And yes, it does get easier to nap in the afternoon. Especially on a rainy afternoon like today.
