Are you are an Instagram enthusiast? If so, I’d like to begin this week’s Sunday Seven with an invitation to follow me on my Instagram account.

I have been on Instagram for a while now, and I try to post something at least a few times a week.

For this week’s edition, I thought I’d post seven photos from my Instagram account that I like a lot.

(I hope you will, too!)

7 Instagram Shots From My Account and the Stories Behind Them

1. Scotty

I managed to snap this shot of him looking fairly regal as he surveyed his “kingdom”.

Keeping watch.

2. The Golden Gate Bridge

This is one of the most incredible places I’ve ever visited. Since I’m a Hitchcock fan, I tried to get as close as I could to the spot where Kim Novac jumped into San Francisco Bay in Vertigo, but alas, security fencing prevented me getting to precisely that location. Still, the Golden Gate is a magnificent sight in person.

3. Maymont House

This Victorian mansion was built in the early 1890s and was eventually willed to the City of Richmond. The house is beautiful inside and out and is furnished like Ashville’s Biltmore House: it’s the kind of place that you can’t imagine living in without breaking something priceless on a daily basis. But I’ve always thought the house would make the perfect setting for a ghost story, too.

4. Maymont House

This image shows not only the sandstone blocks that make up Maymont House, but the smoothed marble columns. I loved the intersecting angles and arches I was able to capture from the wraparound porch facing the area where carriages would be received.

5. The Holy City

Charleston, South Carolina is known as “The Holy City” because of sights like this.

6. “The Price is Right”

Back in 1997, as The Price is Right had begin its 26th season on the air, I accompanied a crew to CBS Television City to record a behind the scenes story. Being on the set of a show I’d watched and loved since I was a kid was a definite thrill. Here, the late Rod Roddy does his warm-up routine for the audience before a taping began.

7. Autumn Colors

Fall is my favorite time of the year, and color like this is the reason.

Why #autumn is still my favorite season! #fall #orange

Which of these is your favorite?

  • That capture of the Golden Gate is fantastic!  We visited San Francisco when I was about 12 years old.  I really don’t recall seeing the bridge, but it might not have meant much to me at that time. I’d love to go back now that I could appreciate more of the beauty of the area.

Awesome shots, all of them, but you had me with #1.  Give that fella a nice scratch behind the ears and a cookie for just being freakin’ gorgeous. ;-)
