I was looking at last year’s Y edition of the Saturday Six when we last did an alphabet run, I used the keyword Yams and asked which kind of potato you like best. I prefer the traditional Idaho white potato. Down South, we never referred to yams as yams. We call them sweet potatoes, and the “sweet”  part is exactly my problem with them: if I had been raised knowing they were “yams” and not “potatoes,”  I’d probably like them. But my brain hears “potato” and thinks salty, not sweet.
That’s a little glimpse of the food portion of my brain in action for you.
This week, it’s another Y edition of the Saturday Six, with another six keywords beginning with the letter Y that inspire the questions.
And next week, we’ll wrap up the alphabet with six questions inspired by words beginning with the letter Z.
To play, just leave a comment with either your answers or the link to the post on your own blog if you choose to post the answers there! Each week, you can find other interesting blogs by checking the comments others leave.
Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your blog… But don’t forget to leave a link to your blog so that everyone else can visit! Permission is not granted to copy the questions to message boards for the purpose of having members answer and play along there. Enjoy!
1. Y is for YARDWORK: What’s your favorite kind of yardwork?
2. Y is for YEARBOOK: How many of the yearbooks you had in school do you still own?
3. Y is for YEAST: What is your favorite kind of bread?
4. Y is for YIELD: Do you think the average motorist is bright enough to understand what a Yield sign means, or should Yield signs be replaced with Stop signs?
5. Y is for YOUNG: What age do you think is the “last”  age someone should be considered “young?”
6. Y is for YUCK: Which single food item do you dislike the taste of the most?
Next week, the Saturday Six will feature questions inspired by the letter Z.
Favorite Yardwork: planting seeds (it’s easy)
Yearbook: I have all of them! From Pre k through my senior year at the University of Miami
I love bread so much that I stay away from it like the plague. Croissants! Oh my goodness! Bagels! Cuban Bread! Bread from Outback!Â
Yield should be replaced with STOP because in Miami, people don’t stop all the way. They actually yield at the stop sign.Â
200 years old is the cut off.Â
OH this is easy! I DISLIKE BEETS! The smell makes me want to vomit. So gross!
