#Bloggab is a weekly Twitter chat about personal blogging. Join us each Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET. You can always find transcripts of past editions here.
One of my favorite features of the Bloggab community is our monthly critique. The idea is that once a month — the third Tuesday of every month — we as a group will visit the blogs of volunteers who want constructive feedback on their blog’s layout, design and content.
It can be very difficult to subject your creation to such scrutiny, but we have an incredible community and the feedback has always been about building each other up, and that’s one of the nicest things you can know about the people who take part in #Bloggab each week.
This week, we have three blogs to review, and even if you don’t feel comfortable joining in, I hope you’ll at least lurk, because there may be things you hear said about other blogs that you could put to good use in your own.
Please drop by these blogs and make some notes about what you like and anything you’d like to see but don’t.

Defrosting Cold Cases
by @Vidocq_CC
Defrosting Cold Cases was set up by Alice de Sturler to get more media attention for the victims of unsolved homicides. Through blogging and social media she has been able to shine a new light on these old cases.

Mary Pettigrew: Reflections & Renewal
by @pettigrew66
“A creative haven to share my poetry, thoughts & musings.”
Mary Pettigrew is a writer from Texas who specializes in poetry. She also has a life-long background in music, the performing arts, and 14 years as a special events planner in the private club industry. Life changed dramatically for Mary in 2001 when she was diagnosed with MS. Eventually, after a few years dealing with her MS, divorce, and other challenges, she began to put her focus on “self re-invention” via creative outlets. Healing through music and writing – primarily poetry – filled Mary with passion and endless possibilities.

S.K. Wills
by @Midnyghtskie
“Where Readers Dream, and Writers Aspire.”
S.K. is a dreamer, dream-chaser and dream-getter. That’s where this website and blogging idea stemmed from; her dream of sharing her favorite things with you. The website and blog is a new thing for her, but while she says she’ll probably make a lot of mistakes, she says she’ll learn from them and hopes you don’t judge her too harshly while it’s in the beginning stages. Like every new endeavor it takes a little bit of time to build momentum.
That’s the rundown for this week’s chat.
I have one slot still open for February’s Critique Night on the 18th. If you’d like to have your blog critiqued, please let me know via the Contact page at the top of the blog.
Howdy! I’m glad I glanced at tonight’s critique agenda – I must quickly feed dog…well, and myself! Leftover Chinese food!
Vidocq_CC We will keep our fingers crossed and warm thoughts for you! 🙂
