Saturday Six - Episode 220

Tag: Saturday SixPatrick @ 3:34 pm

It looks like bad weather moving in, so I’ll post this as quickly as I can. The picture I posted in the last post got me thinking about gas prices and driving in general.

  • First to play last week: Shannon of Shannon’s Moments of Introspection. Congratulations!
(According to the rules, “First to Play” requires you to be the first to include the link to the specific entry in which you answered the questions, not just the general link to your blog.)

Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your journal…but either way, leave a link to your journal so that everyone else can visit! To be counted as “first to play,” you must be the first player to either answer the questions in a comment or to provide a complete link to the specific entry in your journal in which you answer the questions. A link to your journal in general cannot count. Enjoy!

1. When is the last time you actually filled your car’s car tank completely?

2. What’s the most you’ve paid for a gallon of gas so far?

3. Has the high gas prices affected how much you travel at all?

4. Take the quiz: What does the road trip of your life say about you?

5. Which single statement was the most accurate about you?

6. If your best friend called you up and wanted to take a week-long road trip, would you be able to afford it?

If you have a Reader’s Choice question you’d like to see asked (and answered), send me an email! I’d love to be able to include it in a future edition of the Saturday Six.

I need to get some housework done. I’ve needed to get housework done all day, but I’ve managed to do anything but, including battling a credit card company’s stupid stubbornness.

But the need to straighten up relates, in part, to this week’s set of questions.

It was somewhat stormy here in Charleston, although there wasn’t as much rain as the growl of thunder much of the afternoon would have made one expect. When lightning is around, especially if it is as intense as it was yesterday, I try to avoid the computer.

That’s why this week’s list of six questions is a bit late.  Here’s to better weather for tomorrow.

2. On an average day, do you feel like you accomplish more than you should, less than you should, or something in between?

3. If you know that a close friend has a serious problem, do you ever let that worry you to the extent that it distracts you from things you need to do?

4. Take the quiz: How’s Your Attention Span?

5. Do you generally find yourself more distracted in the morning or the afternoon?

6. What works best for you in terms of removing the distraction and getting back to work?

If you have a Reader’s Choice question you’d like to see asked (and answered), send me an email! I’d love to be able to include it in a future edition of the Saturday Six.

Last week’s edition of the Sunday Seven had to be one of the all-time easiest questions ever asked.

Saturday Six - Episode 212

Tag: Saturday SixPatrick @ 1:36 pm

It’s lunchtime and I haven’t had breakfast, yet. But that’s okay…I’ll make up for it at lunch. One of my favorite restaurants is offering shrimp and grits today, so I’ll go have a helping, then ponder going to the gym, which I desperately need to do.

If the shrimp and grits thing seems disgusting, I’ll confess that it did to me as well. Despite being a native of South Carolina, I didn’t try shrimp and grits until I moved to Charleston. It’s good stuff. You owe it to yourself to try it. At least once. Forget dangerous crap like bungee jumping: put shrimp and grits on your bucket list instead and your nerves will thank you.

In any case, on to the questions!

4. Take the quiz: What Kind of Cereal Are You?

5. When you eat pancakes, how many do you typically place in a stack?
