GSN scored an all-time ratings high this week with the Thursday night premiere of an original game show that’s one-of-a-kind.
The American Bible Challenge outperformed the cable net’s previous record by more than half a million viewers, which is an accomplishment in itself. On top of that, the program ranked in the top 5 in the time period for cable networks in total viewers and two key demographics that advertisers value: women 25-54 and adults 25-54.
Who’d have thought a game show about the Bible would have done so well? Does that mean there’s hope for TV after all?
Comedian Jeff Foxworthy hosts the one-hour program in which contestants share their own stories before competing against each other with their knowledge of the Bible. Each team plays for a charitable organization.
The American Bible Challenge airs Thursday nights at 8pm on GSN. You can catch a sample at the network’s website, here.
