Saturday Six #484

saturday six

This week’s edition of the Saturday Six focuses on your favorites. It’s a simple enough topic, right? What makes one particular type or brand of something your favorite one? (Wow, when I add that second question, it suddenly gets a little more difficult!)

But no one ever said life was supposed to be easy all of the time, did they?

So let’s play!

Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your blog… But don’t forget to leave a link to your blog so that everyone else can visit! Permission is not granted to copy the questions to message boards for the purpose of having members answer and play along there. Enjoy!

1. What is your favorite song and why?

2. What is your favorite band and why?

3. What is your favorite place to vacation and why?

4. What is your favorite local restaurant and why?

5. Who is your favorite living relative and why?

6. What is your favorite pet (current or past) and why?

Thanks for playing this week’s Saturday Six and I hope you’ll be back next week!

1. 1.
What is your favorite song and why?
“Steal My Show” by tobyMac. Steal My Show is a song with
a great beat and a strong message about surrendering our lives to God. tobyMac
uses his own performance as an analogy for our own lives. The song is fun, and
catchy and energetic.
2. What is your favorite band and why?
Unsurprisingly, my favorite band is tobyMac. In addition to Steal
My Show, he’s also performed several of my other favorite songs like “Me without
You” “Made to Love” “Get Back Up” and “City on
Our Knees”.
tobyMac has a great voice, and his songs are fun. They get your
feet moving while delivering hope and encouragement.
3. What is your favorite place to vacation and why?
The happiest place on earth aka Walt Disney World. There is so
much to see, so much to do, and so much to eat. There is something for everyone
in the family and it is an absolutely wonderful experience. It is truly a
magical experience every time we go. Disney just has this way of making you
feel like their most important guest even when you know you are just one of
thousands they see every day.
4. What is your favorite local restaurant and why?
Moes! Moe’s Southwest Grill. I love the place. The food is
outstanding, and its one of the few places that my entire family can find
something they want. The menu has all these creative pop culture reference
names. The staff is super friendly, and the prices are pretty reasonable. The
chips and salsa are outstanding. I usually get the Joey Bag of Doughnuts.
One
caveat is that I’ve found the one in Mt. Pleasant is not quite as good as the
others.
5. Who is your favorite living relative and why?
I would have to say my Mom. We’ve been through so much together,
and she’s the person I think about whenever I need advice. She’s become more of
a friend than a parent now, and I treasure the time we can spend together.
6. What is your favorite pet (current or past) and why?
When I was a kid my grandmother took in a German Sheppard named
Freeda from a family that was moving out of her neighborhood and could no
longer care for the dog. That dog became sort of my dog whenever I visited her.
We would run and play and have a great time. At the time I didn’t know anything
about breeds or how German Sheppards were used as police dogs and such. Freeda
was the gentlest, most loving animal I’ve ever been around and I still think
about her sometimes.

2. 1. What is your favorite song and why?
Thursday’s Child by David Bowie. It’s just such a masterpiece of modern songwriting.
2. What is your favorite band and why?
David Bowie. I love the creativity and the anxiety he expresses in his work.
3. What is your favorite place to vacation and why?
I don’t go on vacation.
4. What is your favorite local restaurant and why?
I don’t know of any real restaurants around here, just bars and fast food joints.
5. Who is your favorite living relative and why?
My brother. Because he’s my brother.
6. What is your favorite pet (current or past) and why?
My first dog, Jella.
