Saturday Six #475

1.05K 7

This past Tuesday night’s #Bloggab focused on blog hosting platforms. It was a great chat, and if you find yourself available on a Tuesday night at 9pm Eastern time, I invite you to join us.

I’m going to ask a few questions from that particular chat, because it’s interesting to hear how a blogger chooses where he or she blogs. Some of the questions are somewhat different than the actual ones asked, but many convey the same spirit of the conversation.

So let’s see what you have to say to these!

Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your blog… But don’t forget to leave a link to your blog so that everyone else can visit! Permission is not granted to copy the questions to message boards for the purpose of having members answer and play along there. Enjoy!

1. How many different blogging platforms (i.e., Blogger, WordPress, Tumblr, etc.) have you used since you started blogging?

2. What’s the biggest reason you chose the platform you’re currently on?

3. What do you like most about your current blog?

4. How confident are you in your ability make changes to the code of your site (i.e., HTML or CSS) if you wanted to make a design or functionality adjustment?

5. What would you most like to change about your current blogging platform?

6. What blogging-related topic would you most like to see discussed?

Thanks for playing this week’s Saturday Six and I hope you’ll be back next week!

1. How many different blogging platforms (i.e., Blogger, WordPress, Tumblr, etc.) have you used since you started blogging? Just WordPress. 2. What’s the biggest reason you chose the platform you’re currently on? The fact that it is the best and free. 3. What do you like most about your current blog? The fact that I just set it up again and I am still deluding myself into thinking I will keep writing for it. 4. How confident are you in your ability make changes to the code of your site (i.e., HTML or CSS) if you wanted to make a… Read more »

1. How many different blogging platforms (i.e., Blogger, WordPress, Tumblr, etc.) have you used since you started blogging? I’ve tried Geocities (showing my age), Blogger, WordPress.com, and a self-hosted WordPress blog. The Blogger blog was very successful for a while (about 1000 hits/day at its peak), the WordPress blogs have never had that level of success. 2. What’s the biggest reason you chose the platform you’re currently on? I wanted the complete autonomy and control that came from a self-hosted blog. Plus, it just looked more professional to have my internet platform’s address the tedthethird.com instead of tedthethird.blogspot.com or tedthethird.wordpress.com… Read more »

What’s the biggest reason you chose the platform you’re currently on? The ease of blogging and its integration with a photo album. 3. What do you like most about your current blog? The scheduling, I can write a whole week’s worth of blogs for when I go on vacation (which I learned about on your blog). 4. How confident are you in your ability make changes to the code of your site (i.e., HTML or CSS) if… Read more »

OK, did I miss the announcement about (new) changes to your blog? I do not remember this font being used for your questions in the past, but that could just be half-heimers. 😉
In any case, my answers are here: http://sweetmemes.blogspot.com/2013/05/patricks-place_18.html

psalm23 Well, I haven’t made any big announcement just yet…I wanted to see if anyone would notice. 🙂

patricksplace psalm23 It’s not that we didn’t notice.  Some of us just didn’t say anything. 😛  It’d be hard NOT to notice!
