Saturday Six #408

saturday six

With tomorrow being Super Bowl Sunday, I figured I’d do a football-themed edition of the Saturday Six, which should be quite a challenge for me, since I’m not the biggest football fan in the world.

But keep your fingers crossed, and we’ll get through it together!

Be sure to check back this week and click on the links of bloggers who play along in the comments below! It’s a great way to find blogs you may not have visited and keep the conversation going!

Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your blog… But don’t forget to leave a link to your blog so that everyone else can visit! Permission is not granted to copy the questions to message boards for the purpose of having members answer and play along there. Enjoy!

1. How often did you attend football games — or any kind of sporting event — from your high school when you were a student?

2. How often did you attend football games — or any kind of sporting event — from your college when you were a student?

3. Since graduating either, how many games have you attended?

4. If you had to choose any sport to really get into, which sport would you choose and why?

5. If you had to choose any particular team to follow, which team would you choose and why?

6. Your prediction: Who’s going to win this year’s Super Bowl?

If you have a Reader’s Choice question you’d like to see asked (and answered), send me an email! I’d love to include it in a future edition of the Saturday Six.

  1. 1. How often did you attend football games — or any kind of sporting event — from your high school when you were a student?

Very rarely. I might have gone to one or two games my entire high school career. I was kind of anti-social in those days.

    2. How often did you attend football games — or any kind of sporting event — from your college when you were a student?

I went to Auburn University which is a huge football school. I went to every home game (the town virtually shut down anyway).

    3. Since graduating either, how many games have you attended?

I usually make it up to Charlotte to catch one Panthers game per year. This year I went with a friend of mine and our kids to the Panthers/Titans game.

    4. If you had to choose any sport to really get into, which sport would you choose and why?

I’d love to get involved in football in some way. It’s my favorite sport and I think it can teach good life lessons to the kids that play it (as long as they have a good coach).

    5. If you had to choose any particular team to follow, which team would you choose and why?

The Carolina Panthers have been my team for many years. Growing up I’d follow different teams but we never had one that represented South Carolina. Now we do with the Carolina Panthers.

The team has been up and down, but with NFL Rookie of the Year Cam Newton, I definitely see them on an upswing.

    6. Your prediction: Who’s going to win this year’s Super Bowl?

It’s going to be a very close hard fought game, but I would say Brady, Beliceck and the Patriots will win.

  2. 1. Never.

    2. Never.

    3. None.

    4. Badminton. Because I’ve played it myself and it’s one of the few sports I actually like.

    5. Ugh, I guess Ilves (“Lynx”), the local hockey team. Because they’re local and I know the team’s name.

    6. I have no idea, since I don’t know which teams made the game, but I hope they have a better half-time act than the horrid Black Eyed Peas of last year.

  3. This is going to be an easy one to play…

    1. How often did you attend football games — or any kind of sporting event — from your high school when you were a student?

    -0-

    2. How often did you attend football games — or any kind of sporting event — from your college when you were a student?

Well I did attend a hockey game for one period when I was an undergrad, but it was boring and I left.

    3. Since graduating either, how many games have you attended?

    -0-

    4. If you had to choose any sport to really get into, which sport would you choose and why?

If I really had to choose a sport… then it would be ice fishing (Just kidding)

    5. If you had to choose any particular team to follow, which team would you choose and why?

If I really had to choose a team, then it would be UConn Women’s Basketball. I used to watch them, but got boring… they won all the time.

    6. Your prediction: Who’s going to win this year’s Super Bowl?

The New England Traitors… Umm… I meant Patriots. (About 20 years ago they said that they wanted to move to Hartford CT and the state spent $15 million on preliminary site, but they were only using use to leverage Massachusetts)
