Saturday Six – Episode 73

Last Updated on December 12, 2019

Considering the magnitude of Katrina, the first thought was to not do a Saturday Six this week. But on the other hand, after seeing report after report about the victims, any diversion, no matter how short, might be welcome. So I decided to press on with the questions this week. I’ll return to the more important topic later today.

This one might provide more than a short diversion, because it’s a virtual scavenger hunt with three other sites to visit and three Reader’s Choice questions! All that, plus a minor update to the logo! What a week!

But first, Beth of “My Life…My Journey….” was first to play last week. Congratulations, Beth!

Last week’s questions marked the first time that Linda, Rebecca and Toniann played the ‘Six.’ Be sure to stop by their journals and say hello.

Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your journal…but either way, leave a link to your journal so that everyone else can visit! If you don’t have an AOL journal, you can still play, but of course you’ll at least need an AOL screen name, which you can get for free with AOL Instant Messenger, to be able to leave a comment here. To be counted as “first to play,” you must be the first player to either answer the questions in a comment or to provide a complete link to the specific entry in your journal in which you answer the questions. A link to your journal in general cannot count. (Again, if you’re playing for the first time, please be sure to say so in the comment!) Enjoy!

1. What is the price of gas at your regular station? Have you made any changes to holiday plans because of gas prices?

2. Some people feel that the song that was #1 when they were born somehow helps shape their life. Which song was #1 when you were born, according to this site. Do you think it relates to your life at all?

3. Take this quiz: Which child does it say you are? Is it correct about your birth order?

4. READER’S CHOICE QUESTION #61 from De: What animal do you equate your spirit with and why? (This site may be helpful.)

5. READER’S CHOICE QUESTION #62 from Psychfun: If you had to describe your personality as a nut (as in the eatable kind) what nut would you be and why?

6. READER’S CHOICE QUESTION #63 from Chris: Who knows the “real” you better – – your real world friends or your Jland readers?

If you have a Reader’s Choice question you’d like to see asked (and answered), click the e-mail link on the About Me bar and send it to me.

MY ANSWERS:
1. Friday of last week, when I filled my tank, gas was $2.45 per gallon. Yesterday, the same station had gas at $2.95 per gallon. I didn’t really have any Labor Day weekend travel plans, but I have now cancelled a trip home for the following week because of gas prices being so high and so many stations reporting that they’re running out of gas.

2. “Wedding Bell Blues” by Fifth Dimension. Just read the lyrics…don’t really see the connection, other than the fact that I’m not married.

3. You Are Likely a Second Born

At your darkest moments, you feel inadequate. At work and school. you do best when you’re evaluating. When you love someone, you offer them constructive criticism. In friendship, you tend to give a lot of feedback – positive and negative.Your ideal careers are: accounting, banking, art, carpentry, decorating, teaching, and writing novels. You will leave your mark on the world with art and creative projects.

It’s inaccurate in that I am an only child and therefore the first born. Otherwise, I think the description is very accurate; I especially like the part that says I should be writing novels…who would have thought!

4. I would have to choose the Owl: Owls know when to move silently and when to be still, which makes them the keepers of secrets. These solitary birds don’t feel the need to proclaim their presence to anyone until the timing is right. Owl comes to us when we need to open our eyes, and study the situation at hand. If we watch and listen with our inner selves we can figure out what is happening behind the scenes, and confront those who are trying to deceive us at the appropriate time.

5. Hazelnut: Not because of my housekeeping skills, but because I’m probably muchbetterin small doses.

6. My real friends, but even they don’t know me as well as they might think they do. I don’t let many people “in.”
