Sunday Seven #299

Last Updated on February 26, 2012

I really hope you played last week’s edition of the Sunday Seven, but if you didn’t, that’s okay.

Last week, I asked you to list seven things you were grateful for that week. It’s often easy to come up with a handful of things that you’re grateful for. But what if you had to come up with more than a handful?

Are you really aware of how much you have to be thankful for?

This week’s question requires an adjustment in your mindset depending on whether you played last week. If you answered last week’s question, then you must list seven things you didn’t list last week.

If you didn’t play last week, make yourself a list of seven things, then take a few moments and make another list of seven. That second set will be harder…and that’s the point. Give me items 8-14 on your list.

That’s this week’s challenge!

Here is this week’s “Sunday Seven” question. THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:

Name seven things you’re thankful for this week (that you didn’t list in last week’s challenge.

I assure you, I’m not complaining – I just don’t know how many more answers I can come up with for this! Last week I went for meaningful. This week I went more for “haves”, rather than those intangible items. Next week? Who can know…

I’ll try to think of something I’d like to see in your Sunday Seven, since I know you like input. I’m sure I can come up with something good! (Not that you need help, mind you. You do come up with very thought-provoking memes.)

  • I’m thankful for my Mom being sober for the last 24 years.

I’m thankful that for all my drinking in college, the chemical reaction that causes addiction in my Mom never happened in my brain.

I’m thankful that my Mom and I have transformed our relationship from Parent/Child to Friends.

I’m thankful that I have two healthy children. So many people are struggling today with their child’s illnesses of all kinds.

I’m thankful that I have full use of all my limbs. I saw a man the other day who required a wheel chair to get around. I never realized how lucky I am.

I’m thankful that I can eat virtually any kind of food I have a craving for by driving a short distance from my front door and placing an order. Millions are hungry tonight.

I’m thankful to have a car to get back and forth to work. It may cost more than I like to keep it maintained, but it sure beats walking.
