I hope you’re having a Merry Christmas! I would have asked for your seven favorite holiday movies or seven favorite Christmas carols, but those topics have already been done.
So we’ll move on to something completely different.
It’s that time of year, in late December, when everyone begins compiling lists of notables we lost during the last 12 months. Even though the year isn’t over, and living notables still have a few days to make the death scrolls for 2011, that minor detail isn’t enough to stop the lists from happening.
There are plenty more to choose from across the internet.
Your challenge this week is to come up with seven of the people we lost in 2011 with whom you’d most like to have a cup of coffee and conversation.
And, for those of you who read these introductions, I’m going to do something I’ve never done before: I’m going to actually give you a preview of next week’s question: I’m going to ask you to list seven of your best posts from 2011. That one will fall on New Year’s Day, so at least at that point, you will have made it through the entire year before having to come up with seven of your best. (That’s for those of you who tend to do your best work on deadline pressure.) I’m giving you the advance notice because I know it might take you a bit of time to figure out what your favorite posts of a whole year might be.
But for now, back to this week’s challenge!
Be sure to check back this week and click on the links of bloggers who play along in the comments below! It’s a great way to find blogs you may not have visited and to keep the conversation going!
Here is this week’s “Sunday Seven” question. Either answer in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your blog (with a link here), and then comment here with a link back to your blog so that everyone else can visit! Permission is not granted to copy the questions to message boards for the purpose of having members answer and play along there. Enjoy!
THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:
Name seven notable people who died in 2011 who you’d most like to bring back long enough for a conversation over coffee.
Either answer the question in a comment or answer it in your journal and include the link in a comment.
