45 Days in ‘Hell’

Last Updated on February 6, 2022

Paris Hilton was sentenced this week to 45 days in a Los Angeles county jail for violating her probation. The county warns that her crystal-encrusted cell phone will be banned. So will her flashy outfits, which she will trade for a non-chic orange jumpsuit. So will all the make-up.

Criminal Defense Attorney Dana Cole says that a month and a half in that facility is “hellish:”

“Conditions are miserable, people take showers under cold dripping water, the food is completely inedible.”

“But then again, she should have thought of that before she violated her parole,” she most definitely did not add.

Hilton’s attorney says his client was “selectively targeted” because of who she is. Prosecutors deny that claim, adding that no one in Los Angeles is above the law.

Was she “selectively targeted?” Maybe, maybe not. But if she was, I’m at least glad to see that she was targeted to be made to actually face consequences for what the talk shows will call her “wild partying ways.” Consequences that amount to more than that famous Hollywood “slap on the wrist.”

I’m a little tired of seeing celebrities get off scot-free for things they do because of who they are. And I’m sorry, but I don’t think it is so unreasonable to expect someone like Hilton, who serves as a role model (inexplicably) for so many young people, to serve as an example of what happens when you get too wrapped up in partying to pay attention to those nagging little inconveniences like the law.

There is speculation that Hilton’s attorneys will appeal the ruling. If I were the judge who got the appeal, I think I’d give her ninety days.

  • I read that her mother Kathy actually laughed in court when it was suggested that Paris might do jail time? Clearly that family believes that the laws of “the little people” don’t apply to them, and there is no way to make them and other celeb idiots to learn their lesson but to send her to jail for DUI. It’s inexcuseable to do otherwise, and if Gov. Arnold even considers her plea for a pardon, he’s flat out crazy.

  • I was so glad to see that she actually didn’t get off without jail time.
I agree with cat, though, I’m sure her guards will have their hands full with her.

  • Give me a break! I frankly don’t a flip if Paris was targeted. She put herself in the spotlight, so every bit of attention she has gotten has been earned. I’m glad she is going to jail and I’m glad she is not getting any special treatment. No one should be above the law no matter how much money they have or how good they look without their underwear. De 😉

  • the wealthy should follow the laws just like everyone else. It’s always bothered me that money can make the law be bent for those who can afford it.. it just lets you know that anything can be bought for the right price.

yes, she deserves to go to jail for breaking probation. Gimme a break! She is in her late 30’s and well old enough to read and follow the laws put before her.

She’s also wealthy enough to put her problems into others hands to do it RIGHT. RE: put in for the permission to drive to work. Supposedly, she’s not stupid.. so no, I don’t feel sorry that she is going to jail. Maybe it’s time to grow up some and take some responsibility for her own life.? duh.

  • Oh give me a break. Knowing her she will probably make some sex video in there & it will be all over the internet. Don’t think any of this will be wasted. She will benefit soooo much. It will be worse than Martha with the media!

  • The people I feel the most sorry for are the guards wherever she serves her time. What a hassle she will be, and the other inmates won’t be keen to make life any less interesting during her stay, either!
