POLL RESULTS: Jackson Verdict

Last Updated on February 12, 2022

Results of the Michael Jackson verdict poll are in, and it’s almost a tie! Forty-six percent of those who took part said they weren’t at all surprised that Jackson was acquitted of all charges, while 54% were surprised. Among those who claimed some amount of surprise, only 5% thought he’d be found guilty of everything, while 49% expected him to at least be found guilty of the lesser charges of serving alcohol.

I told a co-worker a few weeks before the verdict that there was no way Michael Jackson was going to jail. I didn’t think they’d find him guilty. My mind didn’t change on that…until I was actually watching the special report, listening to the verdicts being read. I suddenly became convinced that he’d be found guilty of something then.

A civil suit is still a possibility, so I’m sure we haven’t heard the last of this story…unfortunately.

Anyway, it’s time for a new poll:

You’ve seen protesters burn the American flag for various causes. The Supreme Court has ruled that burning the flag is a legal part of free speech. But should the American flag be protected? The most recent survey by Opinion Research Corporation turns up an overwhelming majority who support protecting the flag from desecration.

The Citizens Flag Alliance reports that people within the 18-25 age group and the 65+ group tend to want to protect the flag the most.

Where do you stand? That’s this week’s poll on the sidebar. Let your voice be heard!
