Could You Please Take My Reader Poll?
Every so often, I conduct a reader poll here at Patrick’s Place. It’s that time again, so I’m asking you to take the 2017 Patrick’s Place survey!
A blog reader poll can provide a blogger with valuable information about his or her readers. I’ve done a few of them over the years.
My most recent one came about three years ago and provided some interesting insights.
For example, it showed that 60% of my blog readers were female compared to 40% male. The top age groups represented among those who considered themselves regular readers were in the age group of 35-44, with 45-54 coming in at a close second. At that time, I was still in the 35-44 age group, although only barely, and I found it somewhat surprising that the top age group of my readers just happened to be the one to which I belonged. It will be interesting to see if that statistic changes this time around.
A question I asked back in 2014 that is not on this year’s survey centered on political affiliation. I was happy to know from the results of the survey that there was a far more even mix politically than I might have expected: a total of 43% considered themselves conservative on some level, while 37% considered themselves liberal. The remaining 20% identified as independent.
This time around, I’m asking more about topics you are and aren’t interested in and how you wind up visiting the blog when there’s a new post.
Here’s an important detail you should know: it’s a confidential survey. I won’t have your identifying information; I just want honest answers.
So click here to take the survey and I thank you in advance for taking part in it.
I’ll post some results in a month or so once people have had sufficient time to participate.
