Bloglines Gets One-Month Reprieve

123RF

Back on September 10th, Ask.com, owner of the RSS feed aggregator site Bloglines.com, announced to its users that Bloglines would shut down for good on October 1st, thereby providing its users less than a month’s notice.

Tonight, I clicked the Bloglines link on my web browser toolbar just to see what the site would look like now that it was theoretically shut down.&nbsp  I was surprised to find the site still up and running with a new announcement in red type indicating that the site would shut down for good on November 1st.

Somehow, I doubt this is going to be the start of a trend.

But if you’ve been meaning to transfer your Bloglines list to a different service, like Google Reader, for example, but you just haven’t had time because of life getting in your way, you now have a second chance.

Enjoy it while you can.
