Next Bloggab (2/4): Blogging Copyright Concerns

#Bloggab is a weekly chat on Twitter about personal blogging. Topics vary from week to week, but everyone who blogs or who is considering starting a blog is welcome. To read transcripts of past #Bloggab chats, visit the Storify page here.

Should bloggers really be concerned about copyright law? How much is too much when it comes to “fair use” and what can a blogger do to make sure they do everything they can to avoid legal trouble?

These important questions — and questions you have as well — will be the focus of this week’s #Bloggab, when Kerry Gorgone joins us.

Kerry O’Shea Gorgone is a new media specialist, attorney and educator. She holds an MBA from Bentley University, and graduated summa cum laude from Suffolk University Law School. Kerry has taught courses in marketing law, intellectual property, and business. Currently, she teaches New Media Marketing for the Internet Marketing Master of Science Program at Full Sail University in Florida.

She is a contributing writer for numerous sites, including MarketingProfs, Huffington Post, the {grow} blog, SocialMedia Explorer, Business2Community, and Spin Sucks.

Kerry is on Social Media Marketing Magazine’s list of the Top 100 Marketing Professors on Twitter and list of the Top 50 Business School Professors on Twitter.

I’m very happy to welcome Kerry to the #Bloggab community and I know she’ll be able to provide us all with important answers to blogging copyright questions we can all put to use.

The preliminary plan is this: I’ll do a Q&A with Kerry (that may answer some of your questions) for the first twenty-five minutes or so, then we’ll open the chat to questions from everyone else. So if you have questions about copyright concerns, fair use, and other legal snares bloggers could face, this week’s Bloggab is one you definitely don’t want to miss!

So in addition to @patricksplace and @bloggab (which I will use in case my primary account winds up in temporary “Twitter jail,” please be sure you’re following @kerrygorgone and I hope to see you this Tuesday night at 9pm Eastern.
