Saturday Six #423

saturday six

This week’s edition of the Saturday Six follows a theme of “Would you rather.” In each question, you’ll be given a choice of two things, and you’ll have to choose one of them and explain why!

I hope you enjoy this week’s edition. Thanks for dropping by!

Be sure to check back this week and click on the links of bloggers who play along in the comments below! It’s a great way to find blogs you may not have visited and keep the conversation going!

Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your blog… But don’t forget to leave a link to your blog so that everyone else can visit! Permission is not granted to copy the questions to message boards for the purpose of having members answer and play along there. Enjoy!

1. Would you rather read the newspaper from a physical paper or online? Why?

2. Would you rather be part of the Addams Family or the Munsters family? Why?

3. Would you rather take a cruise to the Bahamas or Alaska? Why?

4. If you had to choose one of them, would you rather be shorter or taller than your current height? Why?

5. Would you rather give up your favorite beverage or your favorite food for good? Why?

6. Would you rather be able to read people’s minds or know the future? Why?

If you have a Reader’s Choice question you’d like to see asked (and answered), send me an email! I’d love to include it in a future edition of the Saturday Six.

  1. 1. Would you rather read the newspaper from a physical paper or online? Why?
I subscribe to a daily newspaper, and they offer a free (lol) digital version of it when you subscribe to the print version. I’ve never logged in, because I read the print version. I like the fact that I can get up at 6 am and read it with my morning coffee or evening tea. Perhaps the best part of reading the print version is that the articles aren’t followed by 25 pages of trolls, grammar police, or general morons arguing over the topic of the article.

    2. Would you rather be part of the Addams Family or the Munsters family? Why?
The Addams, I guess, because I have heard of them, and I have not heard of the Munsters; better the devil you know, and so on…

    3. Would you rather take a cruise to the Bahamas or Alaska? Why?
Oh wow, this is a tough one. I am not sure which I find less appealing: being only 200 miles away from Cuba, or less than a hundred miles away from Sarah Palin’s house.

    4. If you had to choose one of them, would you rather be shorter or taller than your current height? Why?
Taller. I’m 6’1″; I’d like to be a couple of inches taller. Why? I don’t know. Because of the chicks, Patrick, because of the chicks.

    5. Would you rather give up your favorite beverage or your favorite food for good? Why?
I can survive without lasagne. I cannot survive without coffee.

    6. Would you rather be able to read people’s minds or know the future? Why?
I would rather read minds. I think it could be useful in the here and now, whereas knowing the future would just be depressing. What would be the point of knowing about something like 9/11 in advance? Who’s going to believe me, until after the fact, which is when I’d be introduced to a padded room and a waterboard. Nothing good ever came to people who predicted things and got them right.

  2. 1.  I think I’d prefer the actual paper because sometimes the online papers don’t contain everything the paper copy does. (at least this is true of my local paper)
    2.  The Addams family.  I’m not entirely sure why but I just prefer them over the Munsters.
    3.  Alaska!  I’ve been on a Caribbean cruise already and it was nice but I’m not much of a beach person.  An Alaskan cruise is on my “to do someday” list.
    4. A little taller.  I’m 5’2″ which isn’t teeny-tiny but it would be nice to be a bit taller so I could reach things better – like the top shelf at the supermarket.  I hate having to ask for help to reach something…
    5. My favorite food.  My favorite beverage is coffee and I really enjoy drinking it.  I have many foods I enjoy so giving up one of them wouldn’t be so bad.
    6. Wow.  This is a tough one.  I think it would be potentially painful to be able to read people’s minds but I really don’t want to know the future.  I guess I’d have to go with mind reading if I had to choose but I wouldn’t want either of these abilities.

  3. 1. Would you rather read the newspaper from a physical paper or online? Why?

I enjoy the sensation of reading a physical paper. It is not as convenient, but the tactile nature can’t be beat.

    2. Would you rather be part of the Addams Family or the Munsters family? Why?

Addams. They accept that they are different and don’t even try to fit in.

    3. Would you rather take a cruise to the Bahamas or Alaska? Why?

    Alaska. I’ve never been there.

    4. If you had to choose one of them, would you rather be shorter or taller than your current height? Why?

Taller. Growing up I dreamed of being 5′ 10″. I stopped growing just over an inch short.

    5. Would you rather give up your favorite beverage or your favorite food for good? Why?

Beverage. It is horrible for me anyway, but I do love it.

    6. Would you rather be able to read people’s minds or know the future? Why?

Mind reading, not because I want to know what others think, but because I don’t want to know the future. Where is the fun in that?

  5. 1. Would you rather read the newspaper from a physical paper or online? Why?

That depends.  To read just an article or two, I’d rather read it online.  It can be easier to search and find just what I want to read and I don’t get that ink on my hands.  But some things like the obituaries or local columns or comics are better to read in the actual paper.

    2. Would you rather be part of the Addams Family or the Munsters family? Why?

I can barely remember these shows now, so I don’t have a strong presence but I think the Munsters were more diverse and maybe nicer?

    3. Would you rather take a cruise to the Bahamas or Alaska? Why?

Alaska – I want to see the midnight sun, glaciers, snow-capped peaks, etc.

    4. If you had to choose one of them, would you rather be shorter or taller than your current height? Why?

Taller – most things are designed for people a few inches taller than me.

    5. Would you rather give up your favorite beverage or your favorite food for good? Why?

Beverage – people are starting to say diet soda isn’t  that healthy and I should probably quit.

    6. Would you rather be able to read people’s minds or know the future? Why?

Read people’s minds.  I think it could make me a better teacher and help me help and understand people better, and learn more.  Knowing the future is something that I just have this hunch would be more trouble than good.
