It’s time for another edition of the Saturday Six, and this week, I’m focusing on the supermarket. Do you have a favorite place to shop for groceries? Even if you can’t narrow it down to just one, if you ever participate in grocery shopping at your home, this week’s set of questions should be right up your alley.

Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your blog… But don’t forget to leave a link to your blog so that everyone else can visit! Permission is not granted to copy the questions to message boards for the purpose of having members answer and play along there. Enjoy!

1. Which store is your favorite place to buy the most of your groceries?

2. Does that store offer some sort of discount card and, if so, do you have one?

3. What’s the number one reason this grocery store happens to be your favorite?

4. Do you wipe off your shopping cart with one of those sanitizing wipes stores now place next to the carts, or do you secretly snigger at those who do?

5. Do you prefer paper, plastic or reusable cloth bags?

6. Which section of the store (i.e., frozen, produce, meat, etc.) do you buy from most often?

Thanks for playing this week’s Saturday Six and I hope you’ll be back next week!

  • 1. Which store is your
favorite place to buy the most of your groceries?
As much as we hate to say so, it’s Wal-Mart.
    2. Does that store
offer some sort of discount card and, if so, do you have one?
    No.
    3. What’s the number
one reason this grocery store happens to be your favorite?
Prices are better on the majority of stuff I buy.
    4. Do you wipe off
your shopping cart with one of those sanitizing wipes stores now place next to
the carts, or do you secretly snigger at those who do?
Sometimes I’ll wipe the cart off. I don’t snigger. You shouldn’t either.
    5. Do you prefer
paper, plastic or reusable cloth bags?
Reusable cloth bags. I’m not some huge environmentalist or anything, they
are just easier to carry, and I love having the insulated ones for my frozens.
    6. Which section of
the store (i.e., frozen, produce, meat, etc.) do you buy from most often?
Tough one. I hardly ever buy produce there. I like
going to another store for produce. Bilo or Publix. Everything else is pretty
    even.
What started it all was the diapers and formula.
They were my gateway drug. Then I started looking at other stuff I buy and next
thing you know, I’m buying the majority of groceries at what we affectionately
call ‘Wally World’. Yes, it’s a National Lampoon Vacation reference.

  • 1. Which store is your favorite place to buy the most of your groceries?  I’m not sure how to answer this one.  My favorite store isn’t the one where I buy most of my groceries. My favorite store is Wegman’s which is too far away to be my usual store and too expensive.  I usually shop at Walmart.  I dislike shopping there but it comes down to what I can afford.  I do not purchase my meats at Walmart, however.  I get those at a small Shurfine store near me where they have their own butcher.
    2. Does that store offer some sort of discount card and, if so, do you have one? No discount card for Walmart.  I don’t think Wegman’s has one, either. The Shurfine store doesn’t either.
    3. What’s the number one reason this grocery store happens to be your favorite? Wegman’s is an awesome store with a selection of produce, cheeses and meats that you would not believe.  Their bakery is top notch, as well.  I’m not at all excited about Walmart.
    4. Do you wipe off your shopping cart with one of those sanitizing wipes stores now place next to the carts, or do you secretly snigger at those who do? I sometimes do if I think about it.  Mostly I don’t worry about it too much.  I simply wash my hands often and try not to touch my face.
    5. Do you prefer paper, plastic or reusable cloth bags? I use re-usable shopping bags except when I need to restock my supply of plastic.  (I have a dog. ‘Nuff said.)
    6. Which section of the store (i.e., frozen, produce, meat, etc.) do you buy from most often? Produce.
