Do you Facebook? Do you Myspace? This week’s questions are about social networks. Yes, even Twitter is in the mix. If you aren’t a member of any of the above, you can still play…just imagine how you’d answer the questions if you were part of them.
- First to play last week: Mika of Mika Salakka. Congratulations!
(According to the rules, “First to Play” requires you to be the first to include the link to the specific entry in which you answered the questions, not just the general link to your blog.)
Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your journal…but either way, leave a link to your journal so that everyone else can visit! To be counted as “first to play,” you must be the first player to either answer the questions in a comment or to provide a complete link to the specific entry in your journal in which you answer the questions. A link to your journal in general cannot count. Enjoy!
1. Which social networking site do you feel the most comfortable with?
2. How much do you treat your blog like you’d treat a social network?
3. Whether you actually use it or not, do you feel like you “get” Twitter?
4. Some people use software to mirror their status messages so that the current status on Facebook and Myspace is identical to their latest tweet on Twitter. Good idea or bad, and why?
5. Take the quiz: What Does Your Favorite Social Networking Site Say About You?
6. Which website has singlehandedly helped you reconnect with the most people you’d lost contact with?
If you have a Reader’s Choice question you’d like to see asked (and answered), send me an email! I’d love to be able to include it in a future edition of the Saturday Six.
My answers are finally posted here…

1. Facebook 2. Just a little, in that I have at times used it as a means of connection to some online friends, but in some ways it is a journal for me and in some ways it is “random Internet user that might happen by”. 3. Sort of. I use it, but I use it sort of as a bookmarking service – I use it to post articles or videos that I find interesting. I don’t really like the stupid one line tweeting about what you are doing stuff – maybe occasionally, or maybe as a means to specifically… Read more »
Great questions!!
1. Which social networking site do you feel the most comfortable with? Facebook. 2. How much do you treat your blog like youd treat a social network? Not at all the same way. I don’t write my blog with anyone specific in mind, but I know the people who read my notes or status updates on Facebook. Ergo, when I am annoyed by something, for example some political curiosity, I may say the first thing that pops into my mind about it on Facebook. I know the people who will read it and I know they, knowing me fairly well,… Read more »
