It’s time for a new collection of random links, and I can’t start off this set without a mention of the legendary Dick Clark, who passed away on Wednesday.

1. Dick Clark: A Life in Photos: The title speaks for itself.

2. Star Transformed: A new movie called Hitchcock tells the story of the making of the master of suspense’s 1960 hit Psycho. Have a look at who’s playing him and the incredible makeup job!

3. What a Set of Pipes! The late Don LaFontaine, one of the world’s most famous movie trailer announcers, may be rolling over in his grave at the thought that a 14-year-old does a dead-on impression of him. Click the link and listen for yourself!

4. Mustang Makeover: Could this be the future look of the Ford Mustang?

5. Dog Wars: You know all the flack Mitt Romney has caught over the report that he strapped his Irish Setter’s crate to the top of his car for a 12-hour ride? Now the GOP has an anti-dog story against Barack Obama: in his book, Dreams of My Father, Obama supplies the story on his own. Which one looks worse to you?

6. Bulging Burgers: Trying to lose a few pounds? Then it should be obvious that burgers probably aren’t the perfect thing for your diet, anyway. But health advocates are likely to tell you these 11 shouldn’t be on the menu at any time. Number one on the list, believe it or not, contains 1,910 calories! Hello, quintuple bypass!

7. Lemonade Liberty: Why would the law target a little kid’s lemonade stand? The greatest magazine ever, Mental_floss, compiled a list of six incidents where police had to step in.

8. Keep Smiling: Are you the “Glass Half Empty” or “Glass Half Full” type? A new study shows that your answer could have a big impact on your health.

9. Salad Ninjas: Enjoy an evening with friends at your local Olive Garden? Love those big endless salads, but wish you knew the secrets to guarantee yourself a black olive or a peppercini pepper? Your wish has been granted.

10. Tag, You’re It! Here’s a cute little video of a child and some otters engaged in a fun chase. I dare you not to smile when you see it!

  • In some parts of Indonesia, where Barack Obama tasted dog, dog meat is considered a festive dish eaten on special occasions. Obama was between six and ten years old. I don’t know about the Obama family, but at that age I ate what was on the plate put in front of me or I didn’t eat at all. What’s Romney’s excuse?

  • I frequently laugh at the glass half empty/half full scenario.  I would describe the glass as completely full: 1/2 filled with water and half with air!  I wonder what this says about me?
