I’m tired of the anti-Bush folk whose sole concern is that Bush “lied” to the American people. (There are those who have more substantial issues with the President and his party, but I’m talking about those who reduce the entire crux of the matter to the notion that dishonesty from an elected official is the worst thing that can happen.)
Many of the people who base their entire political agenda on outsing a “liar” would have you vote for the Democratic candidate, as if Democrats are incapable of lying.
No one has a monopoly on the truth. I seem to recall a quote…“I did not have sexual relations with that woman.”
If you don’t support the President, that’s fine. This is America: you have that right. If you don’t support our foreign policy and want to see it changed, that’s fine: you have the right to make your feelings heard. If you think the current administration is the worst thing that ever happened in the history of the country, vote in November for the people who can straighten out the mess.
But please don’t base your argument on the “shocking” conclusion that a politician might have been less than honest. I can’t think of many on either party that I’d hold above suspicion in that department.
