Jones Soda is at it again.  Each year, they come up with a lineup of screwball flavors for the holidays.  Last year, for example, their soda pop came in a Thanksgiving theme with the flavors Green Pea, Sweet Potato, Dinner Roll, Turkey and Gravy, and Antacid.
This year’s variety pack is Christmas-themed, and the flavors are Sugar Plum, Christmas Tree, Egg Nog and Christmas Ham.  (Jewish customers will have a Hanukkah-themed alternate selection, with flavors Jelly Doughnut, Apple Sauce, Chocolate Coins and Latkes.)
Of the Christmas varieties, Egg Nog actually sounds like it might be worth a try.  I’m having some Egg Nog-flavored coffee as I write this, and it’s pretty tasty.  But Egg Nog soda may well be a very different beast.
But Christmas Tree soda?  What does that taste like?  I’d imagine that it smells like Pine…but unless you’ve ever tried to down a cup of Pine Sol (which I’d strongly recommend you not do), I doubt you know what the taste is supposed to be.
Maybe that’s the beauty of it:  no one can complain that they got that flavor wrong!
We actually sell these at Target where I work. Mgt. had us taste it and it all was gross.I think it’s just a money making fad from Jones. You buy it,open it,it’s undrinkable, they’ve got your money and you’ve got extra trash for next week’s pick-up.
um….EW!
