Let’s Get Really Basic

Last Updated on July 26, 2015

There are so many facets of the health care debate that people are getting swept away in partisan talking points — and I mean people on both sides.

So let’s look at some of the points one by one.&nbsp  This time, answer just this one, single basic question, ignoring cost, party, worst-case scenario and political philosophy.

Do you believe that every citizen of this country should be entitled to affordable, quality health care?&nbsp  Why or why not?

No political mudslinging, no “as long as it’s not their way” foolishness…just answer the question.

Absolutely. We have the ability to improve quality of life and even save lives, there’s no humane reason to ration it out based on personal or corporate greed.

Yes.

It’s a matter of life or death, or at the very least quality of life. However we get there, access to quality health care for all should be our goal as a nation. When JFK said we were going to the Moon by the end of the decade, he didn’t say how; he just said we would do it, and we found a way.

We can and should do the same with health care.
