Women Do It, Too…Not That It’s a Surprise…
This morning on the Today show, there was an interesting feature on young people who engage in “hooking up.”
“Hooking up,” for the benefit of those of you over about 35 and not that “up” on the vernacular, doesn’t really have any real definition at all. It can mean anything, in fact, from making out in a corner of a bar to full-blown sex at his place or her place. When someone says they “hooked up” with someone the night before, you really don’t know for sure what they’re saying they actually did, and I suspect that this is the point: it’s sort of bragging about an encounter that may not be anything to brag about, anyway.
(From a moral standpoint, one might argue that it’s the last thing anyone should want to brag about, but that’s another post.)
