Last week’s Sunday Seven had you recalling the sounds that relax you. Since today is Super Bowl Sunday, and since many non-sports fan will still watch, focused on the commercials, this seemed a good time to spend a little time looking at charities.
Antonette, of “Jottings From Jersey,” was technically “first to play” last week’s question about relaxing sounds, since she was the first person to leave a link to the specific entry in which she answered the question in her own blog. (She’d have also been “first to play” if she’d been the first person to answer the questions here in a comment.)
On to the challenge!
THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:
List up to seven charities you feel are particularly worthwhile.
Either answer the question in a comment or answer it in your journal and include the link in a comment. (To be considered “first to play,” a link must be to the specific entry in which you answered the question.)
My answers:
1. American Red Cross
2. The Salvation Army
3. Habitat for Humanity
4. American Cancer Society
5. Christian Children’s Fund
6. Noah’s Wish
7. Your local animal shelter
Mine are up at the end of my entry today
wait..how in the world did I end of being first for last week? I swear I thought there were people before me. Well I don’t know, but I’m a happy camper. And I need to punch myself in the mouth for whining about the difficulties of being the first poster.
🙁 I was so hoping that I got the first to play honor last week, I thought I had made it since my comment was first…ah well…(maybe becasue I am AOL journal I do not count??)

My favorites are:
1. Salvation Army
2. Habitat for Humanity
3. Ronald McDonald Houses
4. Hemophilia Society
5. Make a Wish
6. Susan G. Koman Foundation
(breast cancer)
7. American Cancer Society
(When my son had leukemia I learned that many organizations raised monies for research but not too many did things for the families or patients. I prefer to give to organizations that can provide direct help to patients and their families. These are organizations that I know from first hand experience really help.
Great idea! Here are mine:
