The F word. It doesn’t bother or offend me at all, but I’ve watched four seasons of Californication back to back this past week and kind of could live without hearing it for a while.

I’m sorry. Saying thank you is such a matter of social conditioning that I can say it without really thinking about it, much less actually meaning it; not so much the same with I’m sorry.

I have a word that drives me nuts… Paradigm. why isn’t it pronounced para – dig – um and why isn’t it spelled paradyn?
I have a word that drives me nuts… Paradigm. why isn’t it pronounced para – dig – um and why isn’t it spelled paradyn?
1. Â That one is easy: Â “Sandusky” Â I think it must be twice as bad here in central Pennsylvania. Â We simply cannot get away from the scandal nor the trial. Â I cannot wait for this whole thing to be over! Â
2. How about “raise”?  As in, “Cathryn, we’re going to give you a raise.” I’ve not heard that in almost 3 years and I really need to hear it soon or consider a part-time job to supplement my income.
3. I’d like everyone to learn the difference between their, there and they’re AND it’s and its and use them correctly. I’m not sure this is what you were going for but I couldn’t think of a single word that I often find misspelled.
4. Lebanon – the city just south of where I live and the name of the county I live in – not the country. Â Hint: It is not pronounced like the country. 😉
5. I honestly can’t think of one that I’d ban. Â I could hear a lot less of the word “####”, however. Â That one grates on my nerves. (and yes. Â I’m sure it has something to do with how it is used)
6. Thank you – if it is a response to a compliment. Â I don’t take compliments well but I’m trying to learn to do better.
